Small « charnier », Terracotta jar - 19th century

This earthenware jar is dated to the beginning of the 19th century. Originally called « charnier » or « saloir », this clay jar was filled with salt, in which food was immersed (usually pork). This piece was made in Burié near the « Chapelle des pots ».
