Austrian artist Andrea Baumann is a unique figure in the current landscape of European ceramics. Her porcelain pieces illustrate a thread between the natural behavior of the material and the line tamed by the artist’s hand.
Trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, Andrea develops techniques of casting, demoulage and drying that promote random deformations while remaining in the register of everyday objects.
