« Duck » animal footstool - Omersa

Old Bill, a leather hand luggage maker for Liberty London, created the first handmade pig-shaped footstool in 1927 from leather scraps. In 1955, Old Bill met Dimitri Omersa and saw in him an heir to continue the making of leather animals. So Omersa took over for Liberty and developed the concept with other animals (elephant, monkey, rhinoceros). Until the mid-1970s, the animal footstools were distributed exclusively by Liberty London and then exported by Abercrombie & Fitch to the United States.
